Monthly Worship Themes for 2009

In all walks of life, repetition is key for learning. We believe our walk with God is no different, and to aid in our development and learning as Christians, we have decided this year to study on 12 different focus areas. Each month our lessons, songs and Bible studies will relate to an overall theme. In this way, everyone young and old will have an opporunity to learn together.

JANUARY

Committment: Renewing our committments to each other, God and family. Key verse: Proverbs 16:3

FEBRUARY

Love: Love of God to man, man to God, man to man and Christian to unbelievers. Key Verse: Matthew 22:37-38

MARCH

Growth: Increasing our faith, stepping out of comfort zones. Key verse: James 1:2-3

APRIL

Sacrifice: Old and new covenant sacrifices, the sacrifice of Christ, our sacrifices to God and others. Key verse: LUke 21:1-4

MAY

Joy: Stories of celebration in the Bible, family celebrations, joy of the Lord and His work. Key verse: Psalms 92:4

JUNE

Honor: How the Israelites honored God, how we honor God, honoring the fallen, parents and grandparents. Key verse: Deuteronomy 5:16

JULY

Respect: Respect for authority, each other, our bodies. Key verse: Proverbs 13:13

AUGUST

Rest: Value of the Sabbath, Lord's Day, relief from stress and burnout. Key verse: Exodus 20:11

SEPTEMBER

Labor: Value of labor to live, laboring for the Lord. Key verse: 1 Thessalonians 1:3

OCTOBER

Forgiveness: God forgiving us, forgiving each other. Key verse: Colossians 3:13

NOVEMBER

Harvest: Reaching the lost. Key verse: Matthew 9:37-38

DECEMBER

Giving: The value of serving those less fortunate than ourselves. Key verse: Acts 20:35
