It should be stressed that all Christians should strive to be God's minister, or ambassador, on earth, but there are three men at Hazel Dell to which we give the designation "minister," one who attends to the spiritual needs of the congregation as a whole.

On Sunday morning and evening, The pulpit ministers challenge and motivate the congregation to "love and good deeds" by preaching and teaching from the Word of God. The youth minister serves the specific needs of the youth of our congregation, and presents lessons from God's Word as the need arises.

Our ministers are listed below, along with a brief description of each.

Mike Shank Pulpit Minister Mike and Kendra began their work with Hazel Dell in March of 2001. Their son Nathan is married and resides in Portland, and their daughter Brie is also married and living in Vancouver. Mike came to Hazel Dell with over 25 years of pulpit and teaching experience having served 3 different congregations. Most recently before coming to Hazel Dell, Mike served the Bear Valley church in Colorado as educational director and singles minister and as an instructor for the Bear Valley school of preaching. Mike and Kendra have dedicated their lives to serving God and His people. Mike is passionate about seeking the lost and our continued growth in learning, teaching and applying God's truths. Because Mike and Kendra have worked in diverse and both small and large congregations, they bring a wealth of experience and wisdom to our fellowship. Mike is an avid reader and his other passions include writing, golf and the Denver Broncos.

Joel Davis Associate Pulpit Minister Joel is our associate minister and is one of our elders. Joel is also the principal at Columbia Christian Schools in Portland, Oregon. Joel serves the church at Hazel Dell with his wife Carol and two of his daughters and their families.
